The Business Development Representative will play a key role in identifying and qualifying leads, initiating conversations with decision-makers, and creating a steady flow of high-quality appointments for our sales executives. You will understand the strategic drivers and operational challenges faced by organizations across local government, higher education, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and other commercial sectors. You will stay informed on industry trends, growth initiatives, compliance requirements, and evolving Enterprise Content Management (ECM) needs. The primary responsibility of this role is to book qualified appointments on behalf of the sales team, who will then progress the opportunity and close the business. You will schedule, reschedule, follow up, and take proactive steps to maximize pipeline creation. Outbound calls, email outreach, social engagement, and messaging are expected components of success. This is an entry level on-site role offering an annual base salary of $35,000 - $40,000 plus commission, with potential on target earnings of $70,000K per year. The ideal candidate is hungry, professional, well-organized, and naturally skilled at outreach, networking, and sparking meaningful business conversations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESYour primary objective is to book qualified sales appointments for the sales team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience and jumpstart a career in sales. Lead GenerationUse outbound phone calls, email campaigns, social media outreach, and professional networks to identify and qualify prospective customers.Research target accounts, industries, and buyer personas to tailor messaging and improve engagement. Prospecting & OutreachInitiate and maintain meaningful conversations with prospects to uncover document management and workflow automation needs.Effectively position IDT as a trusted partner for ECM, intelligent document processing, and AI-enabled transformation. Appointment SettingSchedule discovery calls, product demos, and follow-up meetings directly on sales team calendars.Coordinate rescheduling, confirmations, and follow-up communications to ensure high meeting attendance rates. Pipeline & CRM ManagementMaintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions, activities, and lead progress in the CRM system.Support visibility and alignment between marketing and sales teams through consistent documentation. Cross-Team CollaborationWork closely with sales executives to hand off qualified opportunities, providing valuable context and insights.Participate in pipeline review meetings and contribute to strategic targeting discussions. Market Awareness & Continuous LearningStay informed on trends in ECM, intelligent document processing, AI automation, and industry-specific compliance initiatives.Develop your understanding of the IDT solution portfolio to effectively engage prospects. Performance ExpectationsMeet or exceed monthly and quarterly goals for outbound activity, qualified meetings booked, and conversion metrics.Contribute to the overall growth and success of the IDT sales organization. Job Type:Full-time, On-site (Itasca, IL) Compensation:Starting base salary of $35,000K - $45,000K plus commission  Benefits:401(k)Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insurancePaid time off Company DescriptionIntegrated Document Technologies (IDT) is a dynamic privately-owned company that has been in business for over 25 years.
