Experienced Custom Metal Fabricator

IDFS is looking for an experienced Custom Metal Fabricator to join our team.

We are a custom metal fabrication shop, not a production welding operation. Our projects vary from job to job, and we are looking for someone who can take a drawing or concept and figure out how to build it correctly from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and measurements
• Perform accurate layout, fitting, setup, and fixturing
• Determine the proper sequence and process for building custom parts and assemblies
• Cut, drill, grind, bend, form, and prepare materials for fabrication
• Weld stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon/structural steel
• Measure and verify dimensions throughout the fabrication process
• Identify and solve fit-up, dimensional, and fabrication problems
• Make adjustments and corrections when necessary to achieve the finished product
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and fabrication machinery
• Maintain quality, organization, and safety throughout the fabrication process

Qualifications

• Previous experience in custom metal fabrication
• Strong layout, measurement, and fitting skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Solid welding experience
• Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel
• Ability to work independently and think through fabrication challenges
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

This position is for someone who can do more than weld. We need a fabricator who can look at a project, understand what needs to be built, determine how to build it, and work through problems along the way with minimal supervision.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
