Job Description
The Medical Assistant is responsible for rooming patients, scribing all information that occurs during the patient visit and any follow-up needed to complete the visit.
Qualifications
Job responsibilities include but is not limited to:
- Greeting patients in the waiting room, bringing them into the room and confirming their identity.
- Documenting the purpose of the visit, any changes to medical history or medications.
- Making sure any biopsy and lab results are readily available for the physician.
- Preparing for any medications that need to be refilled.
- Assisting the physician with various procedures.
- Making sure all specimens are labels correctly, sent to the correct to the lab with the correct demographic and insurance information.
- Stocking rooms with supplies.
- Maintaining cleanliness between patients.
- Responding to patient inquiries.
- Making sure all biopsy results are reviewed by the physician and follow up care is initiated.
- Various miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent
- 2 years of previous medical office experience
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a calm professional demeanor even when very busy
- Full time M-F 8:00am -4:30pm
Special Demands:
- This job is predominantly a standing position, however there are stations in the clinical area for each medical assistant to work on tasks in between patients.
- This position requires the individual be able to carry an iPad throughout the day.
