We are searching for an energetic Clinical Medical Assistant to add to our Dermatology team devoted to providing excellent dermatology patient care in downtown Washington DC. The MA will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. This is a great position for pre-med or pre-PA students who are taking a gap year.
Principle Duties: The Clinical Medical Assistant is an essential part of our team in providing dermatology patient care and common dermatology procedures. This role includes:
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Checking-in and interviewing patients, collecting chief complaint, vital signs and history
- Charting and scribing the patient encounter in the patient’s electronic medical record
- Completing administrative tasks for prior authorizations, update and file medical records and insurance reports.
- Setting up tools and the patient for procedures & assisting with common dermatology procedures/surgeries
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean medical instruments and exam rooms for patient encounters and/or procedures.
- Administrative duties such as fielding phone calls, informing patients of their lab or pathology results
- Communicating the dermatologists’ plan to patients
- Call in prescriptions
- Ordering supplies

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
