Responsibilities
- Review architectural and structural drawings to create accurate framing estimates
- Perform digital material takeoffs using estimating software
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost analyses, spreadsheets, and project documentation
- Collaborate with project managers, suppliers, and field teams to ensure scope accuracy
- Update estimates as plans change or new site information becomes available
- Support value-engineering efforts to optimize materials and reduce costs
- Keep project files organized and accessible
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to learn digital takeoff/estimating software quickly
- Spatial/3D thinking and an understanding of how framing components fit together
- Basic knowledge of framing or general construction (hands-on experience or coursework is a plus)
- Strong math and analytical abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read construction drawings (training provided for the right candidate)
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience in estimating, framing, carpentry, or related fields
- Familiarity with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or other takeoff tools
- Understanding of building codes, structural requirements, and material specs
