Job Description: LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR (LPC) Part-Time Position - Outpatient Mental Health Clinic Dual Diagnosis Experience Preferred POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team at Integrated Community Health Network, an outpatient mental health clinic committed to providing quality, accessible behavioral healthcare to our community. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work with diverse clients, including those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, in a supportive and collaborative environment. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Employment Type Options: OPTION A: W-2 Employee (Part-Time) Salary Range: Competitive hourly rate based on experience (prorated for part-time hours) Benefits Package (for 20 (for notes and treatment plans) OR Blended Rate: Competitive hourly rate per "service hour" based on experience (includes documentation time) Additional Compensation: Group therapy facilitation: Competitive rate based on experience per 90-minute group Clinical supervision (if qualified): Competitive hourly rate based on experienceTraining / presentations: Competitive hourly rate based on experience Note: 1099 contractors responsible for own taxes, insurance, benefits, and business expenses POSITION DETAILS Schedule: Part-Time (20-30 hours per week) Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Hybrid options available) Client Population: Adults and / or adolescents with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions Service Modality: In-person and telehealth (flexible hybrid model) Supervision: Reports to Clinical Director KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Clinical Services Assessment & Treatment Planning Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations Complete substance use screenings and assessments when indicated Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans Utilize evidence-based practices appropriate for dual diagnosis clients Conduct ongoing risk assessments and safety planning Determine appropriate level of care and make referrals as needed Therapeutic Interventions Provide individual therapy to clients with mental health and/or substance use disorders Deliver family therapy and collateral sessions as appropriate Facilitate therapy groups (optional, with additional compensation) Implement evidence-based interventions including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills Motivational Interviewing Trauma-focused approaches Relapse prevention strategies Harm reduction techniques Adapt therapeutic approaches for telehealth delivery when appropriate Caseload Management Maintain caseload of 15-25 clients (depending on hours) Balance new intakes with ongoing therapy clients Monitor client progress and adjust treatment as needed Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare referrals Crisis Intervention Provide crisis assessment and intervention services Conduct suicide risk assessments and implement safety plans Respond to psychiatric emergencies within scope of practice Coordinate with emergency services and higher levels of care when necessary Manage clients experiencing substance-related crises Care Coordination & Collaboration Multidisciplinary Teamwork Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and medical providers Coordinate with case managers and peer support specialists Communicate with external providers (primary care, specialists, etc.) Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations Work with probation officers, child welfare, and other systems as appropriate Community Resources Connect clients to community resources (housing, employment, medical care) Facilitate referrals to substance abuse treatment programs Link clients to recovery support services (12-step, SMART Recovery, sober living) Coordinate with outpatient and intensive outpatient programs Documentation & Administrative Duties Clinical Documentation Complete thorough, timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) Write progress notes within 24-48 hours of service Maintain updated treatment plans Document risk assessments, safety plans, and crisis interventions Complete insurance authorization requests and clinical reviews Ensure compliance with documentation standards for billing and accreditation Administrative Responsibilities Attend weekly staff meetings and clinical supervision/consultation Participate in quality improvement initiatives Complete required trainings and in-services Maintain compliance with clinic policies and procedures Respond to client communications between sessions (as appropriate) Review and respond to referrals in timely manner Professional Development Continuing Education Maintain LPC licensure and meet continuing education requirements Participate in agency-sponsored trainings Stay current with evidence-based practices Engage in ongoing learning about dual diagnosis treatment Attend relevant conferences and workshops Clinical Consultation Participate in peer consultation and case reviews Seek consultation on complex or challenging cases Contribute clinical expertise to team discussions Provide informal mentorship to pre-licensed staff (if interested) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Licensure & Credentials Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - REQUIRED Active, current, unrestricted license in good standing No disciplinary actions or board sanctions Eligible to practice independently without supervision Able to provide telehealth services in Pennsylvania Professional Insurance Current professional liability insurance ($1M / $3M coverage minimum) Coverage must include telehealth services Will provide certificate of insurance upon hire Clinical Experience Minimum 2-3 years of post-licensure clinical experience Experience providing outpatient mental health therapy Familiarity with DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions Crisis intervention and risk assessment skills Experience with electronic health records (EHR) Knowledge & Competencies Understanding of mental health diagnoses and treatment approaches Basic knowledge of substance use disorders (training provided if needed) Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles Cultural competency and ability to work with diverse populations Strong assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Dual Diagnosis Experience & Training Direct experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (strongly preferred) Training in addiction counseling or substance abuse treatment CAC (Certified Addiction Counselor) or CADC certification Experience in various levels of substance abuse care (IOP, PHP, residential) Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) Understanding of recovery principles and 12-step / alternative models Harm reduction philosophy and practices Specialized Clinical Training EMDR certification (especially for trauma and addiction) DBT training or intensive workshop CBT for substance use disorders Motivational Interviewing certification Trauma-focused therapy (TF-CBT, CPT, Prolonged Exposure) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Family systems therapy Group therapy facilitation experience Additional Credentials & Certifications National Certified Counselor (NCC) Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) or Board Certified Supervisor
