Medical Scribe Job Description
- This position is not office-based. Rather, scribes accompany Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) providers on visits at inpatient facilities in their territory. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a team with our field-based NPs, social workers, and physicians.
Medical Scribe Salary and Benefits
- Salary starting at no less than $15/hour
- $300/month Gas stipend

Medical Scribe Responsibilities
- Interact with providers, patients and facilities
- Facilitate patient flow to ensure the accurate and complete medical record processing of each patient
- Assist the Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatrist by accompanying them throughout the patient visit, recording details into the medical records, and coordinating departmental resources regarding assessments, tests, orders and results
- Collaborate with care management providers to ensure a consistent, highly accurate documentation
- Drives physician to facilities & clinics
- Works in our outpatient clinic, supporting the front office when not working as a Scribe
Medical Scribe Position Requirements
- High School Diploma required; LPN/MA/CNA preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in medical office/clinic/hospital required
- Must be a proficient typist with excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to healthcare facilities within a 2-3 hour radius of Montgomery, AL
- Must have a valid Alabama drivers license and the ability to be covered under IBH auto insurance.
- Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA
