Project Engineer - Construction
Our client is seeking an experienced project engineer with a minimum of 3 years of construction experience. Our client is a medium sized construction company that does commercial masonry and concrete repairs. The contractor has been in business for over 35 years, and some of the longtime project engineers are close to retirement. Their client base is the southern half of WI. They have an excellent reputation which has generated very loyal customers. The job consists of bidding jobs, coordinating getting the jobs done, and taking care of billings.
Candidates must be able to commute to their Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin office at least 3 or 4 days per week, as well as travel to jobsites.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
- Prepare proposals that describe the customer’s problem and how it will be solved
- Estimate job costs and duration of projects
- Negotiate contracts
- Order and set up needed materials and equipment
- Coordinate with subcontractors
- Coordinate and schedule jobs with customers and the field crews
- Visit ongoing projects to ensure jobs are on schedule and are of excellent quality
- Process customer invoices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines will be considered with 3 years of construction experience
- Must be able to commute to the Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin office on a regular basis
- Self-starter who is hard working, driven and confident
- Enjoy building relationships with customers and team members in the office and in the field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information in layman's terms
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and remain level-headed
- Understanding of what it takes to do physical labor
- Proficient in MS Office, mainly Word and Excel
- Knowledge of concrete and masonry a plus
- WI P.E. Licensure a plus
- Experience in construction estimating and project management a plus
Salary: $110-160k base salary depending on experience, plus profit sharing, plus potential for yearly bonus
