ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete complex technical assembly operations from blueprints, drawings, verbal instructions, and models
- Enforce company processes, procedures and safety culture while working at company facilities
- Collaboratively work with co-workers in the fabrication shop helping to foster a strong team-work mentality
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2 years of professional experience working on and around mechanical assemblies, including fasteners, electrical wiring, compressed air tools, electrical hand tools, insulation, and more.
- 1 Experience following work instructions, blueprints, and other technical workflows
- Desire to learn and improve self and company
- Ability to quickly and accurately read basic measuring devices such as a tape measure or calipers
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience as a welder, press operator, saw operator, or other key metal fabrication support role
- Proficient will multiple types of tools and assembly methodologies
- Knowledge in occupational hazards and effective safety precautions of the trade
- Use of precision measuring instruments
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read engineering prints, proficient interpretation of GD&T feature interpretation
- Desire to work collaboratively across several teams as needed to complete projects requiring multiple disciplines
- Strong communication skills and a desire to help achieve company goals in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Possess a strong desire to help maintain shop cleanliness and organization, and maintain a lean manufacturing environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pass background check
- Available to work all required shift hours and be available to work overtime, and weekends, as needed
- Current staff is working 5x 10’s from ~5AM - 3:30PM, Mon-Fri (Subject to change)
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) unassisted
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand
- Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
- Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Travel to other sites may be required
