Part - Time Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)

Job Summary: Under the supervision of a licensed physician, serves as a provider in a community mental health setting, providing medical services within the scope of license, training, credentialing, and current standards of care, and per quality criteria of the employer. Determines and documents evidence of psychopathology, if present, and makes a diagnostic formulation. Assesses the client's needs and options to satisfy the requirements of the case. Discusses with the client his/her findings and recommendations. Decides whether initiation of treatment is urgent: medication, labs, other diagnostic tests, hospitalization, social setting, detox program; verifies that written consent for medication of client has been secured, documents therapist's plan, and/or completes other referral/medical forms as appropriate. With the client's consent, carries out the treatment plan and documents, in a prescribed manner, the interactions during sessions and the progress of therapy. Discusses his/her opinions and/or findings with therapists and makes recommendations when indicated. Works harmoniously with Unit Manager(s), Medical Director, and Chief Medical Officer to define and deliver quality clinical medical care for all clients within the units.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

• Master's degree in Nursing required. 

License:

Required: 

• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse-Psychiatric Mental Health or a Physician Assistant in Texas
• CPR certification.
• Current and valid Driver's License and a clean driving record. 

Experience:

Preferred:

• One year of clinical experience in mental illness and/or substance abuse. 

Hours: Part-Time.

Workhours: 9:00AM - 7:00PM.

Workdays: Saturday and Sunday.

Salary: $66,713.63 - $98,459.48, annually based on years of licensure, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.
