Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced CAD Master Assembler to lead the creation, integration, and management of complex 3D assemblies using advanced CAD tools. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and functionality of full-system models that support engineering, manufacturing, and product lifecycle teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CAD best practices, large assembly management, and configuration control.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and manage full-system master assemblies in CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or equivalent).
Integrate multiple sub-assemblies, parts, and components into a single master model structure.
Maintain proper mating, constraints, and relationships across all levels of the assembly.
Ensure model accuracy, alignment with design intent, and readiness for downstream processes such as simulation, detailing, and manufacturing.
Manage revisions, versions, and configurations of CAD assemblies in PDM/PLM systems.
Collaborate with design engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure models reflect current designs and requirements.
Troubleshoot issues related to geometry, references, performance, and model integrity.
Participate in design reviews and provide visualizations, exploded views, and section cuts as needed.
Apply best practices in CAD file management, naming conventions, and standard templates.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field.
3–7 years of experience in 3D CAD modeling and master assembly management.
Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, NX, or equivalent).
Experience with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, EPDM).
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and BOM structures.
Skilled in managing large assemblies and resolving CAD performance issues.
Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
