Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Regional Business Development Manager to lead and manage our local and regional accounts. To accelerate our rapidly growing business, the Regional Business Development Manager will play a pivotal part in driving revenue growth, managing strategic customer relationships, and helping oversee the development and execution of our sales organization’s strategy within the plastics industry.
The Regional Business Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Vice President of Sales and the senior leadership team to align sales goals with corporate objectives. This individual will bring strong leadership, a proven track record in sales management, and deep knowledge of the plastics packaging industry to scale our sales efforts across various markets. Our leading product is our Hercules BioFlex Stretch Wrap Films.
Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:
- Sales Strategy and Revenue Growth
- Performs to sales and expense goals in assigned area of responsibility. Prepares a business plan and strategy to gain distribution of all items in designated areas.
- Attends industry events and tradeshows that enhance knowledge and provide networking opportunities.
- In conjunction with the senior leadership team, develop recommendations for product, product mixes, and product positioning to drive revenue.
- Prepares and executes a business plan to gain contribution.
- Set and achieve growth targets, including key performance indicators.
- Assist with the development of a selling toolkit, using insights to support key performance indicators for sales fundamentals.
- Team Leadership
- Experience leading teams through changing or ambiguous situations.
- “Team first” mentality: Take on other assignments as needed to support the team.
- Customer Acquisition and Customer Retention
- Maintains and grows Intec business through new customer retention and customer acquisition.
- Responsible for cultivating relationships with local, regional, and national accounts on the buyer manager’s level and on higher levels whenever possible.
- Identify, target, and generate potential customers.
- Negotiate and close deals – Presenting the company’s value proposition, addressing client concerns, and securing contracts.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and identify areas of improvement.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting
- Develop objectives and forecasts to expand business opportunities on an annual basis and communicate adjustments where needed on a continuous basis.
- Review data from sales representatives, regions, and the organization as a whole.
- Identify areas of process improvement in sales forecasting and reporting processes.
- Present forecasts and insights to senior leadership.
- Market Intelligence & Trends
- Stays current with industry trends, innovations, and best practices in plastics packaging and sustainability.
- Monitors and identifies competitive activity within the industry.
- P&L Accountability
- Understanding of the P&L and selling strategy to deliver on P&L objectives.
- Implementing cost-saving measures, optimizing resource allocation, and managing operating expenses.
- Talent Acquisition & Development
- Help and assist to develop and implement talent acquisition strategies.
- Develop and nurture relationships with potential candidates to create a pool of qualified individuals for future opportunities.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to understand business needs and ensure the right candidates are selected.
- Support the integration of new hires and contribute to initiatives aimed at retaining top talent.

The Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate has strong communication and presentation skills, business acumen to analyze sales, financial data, and market trends to make informed decisions, and a strong aptitude for building and maintaining relationships with local, regional, and national accounts. You have attention to detail as well as strong project and time management skills. You demonstrate initiative and learning agility; a track record of strong performance in program delivery.
Other qualities include:
· Buyer relationships within major retailers, packaging, manufacturing, food, and distribution centers.
· Ability to build and cultivate strong customer relationships.
· Excellent financial skills.
· Proficient in negotiation tactics with the ability to manage large and complex deals.
· Strong problem-solving abilities – Identifies issues and develops creative solutions to overcome challenges.
· A track record for getting multiple initiatives done in a fast paced and changing business environment.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Effectively communications with the senior leadership team for support and approval for account specific needs.
· Assists with contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
· Accept personal responsibility for the quality, timeliness & budget impact of work assigned and assume ownership of the results.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Software, Google Drive.
In order to take on these challenges, you will need to have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales leadership, as well as building a local, regional, and national customer base.
· Extensive understanding in the plastics and packaging industry (specifically stretch wrap and shrink wrap film), industry products, and competitors within the industry.
· Ability to provide samples and presentations to customer sites.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses that can easily exceed $300,000 annually. Actual compensation will consider a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offer into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.
