Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Controls Engineer, based in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automation and control systems. Key responsibilities include programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMI, and SCADA systems, and performing electrical and process control system integration. The role also includes collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative automation solutions to meet client needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
- Experience in programming embedded controllers, field bus systems, and user interface terminals
- Background in Electrical Engineering and Troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Process Control, Motion Control, and Automation Systems
- Ability to design and program PLCs, HMI, and SCADA systems
- Proficiency in analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving control system issues
- Experience with Siemens or Allen Bradley programming and/or other industrial automation tools is a plus
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing documentation and and execution
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with safety standards and risk assessment is advantageous
