Job Title: Paralegal
Location: St. Louis, MO (On-site or Hybrid)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to support attorneys in managing a high-volume caseload. This role is responsible for case preparation, legal research, document drafting, and ensuring compliance with court procedures and deadlines. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Support
- Assist attorneys with managing active caseloads from intake through resolution
- Maintain and organize case files, both physical and electronic
- Track deadlines, court dates, and filings to ensure timely compliance
Legal Documentation
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts (including e-filing systems)
- Assist in preparing exhibits, affidavits, and trial binders
Research & Investigation
- Conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Summarize case law, statutes, and legal articles for attorney review
- Assist with fact investigation and gathering supporting documentation
Discovery & Trial Preparation
- Manage discovery process including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas
- Coordinate document production and review
- Support trial preparation including witness coordination and exhibit organization
Client & Communication Management
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred
- 2 years of paralegal experience (litigation experience strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of Missouri court rules and procedures preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with legal case management and document management systems
