Adolescent Community ResidenceIMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR
Behavioral Health Services Director for OMH ResidentialPOSITION SUMMARY: A licensed professional that will evaluate, assess, and provide therapeutic services to children and their families who are currently enrolled in the Adolescent Community Residence (CR). This provider will work with adolescents from the age of 12 to 18 and their immediate family members.
The provider’s primary responsibility will be to identify changes that need to be made within the home, while supporting the adolescent and their family (individually and together) in implementing these changes as they work towards the goal of greater success upon discharge.
The licensed professional will support clinically informed individual service plans, facilitate more intensive youth and family skill building and behavior management strategies, and promote clinically informed and family centered programming.
This provider will also work with CR Staff to help them maintain a clinically oriented and informed outlook.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education, Training & Experience:Licensed in New York State as a: Licensed Psychoanalyst, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health CounselororLicensed Masters Social Worker (Supervised by Licensed Psychologist or Psychiatrist)
Preferred Education, Training & Experience:Training related to evaluation of MH diagnosis and experience completing assessments to recommend appropriate services and needed supports.Experience providing services to individuals with serious emotional disturbances.Experience with providing family oriented services and supports. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Valid Driver’s License that meets agency standardsFunctional knowledge of basic computer applications (ex. Word, Excel, Email, ect.)Ability to react appropriately to emergency and other unusual situationsAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writingKnowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of psychotherapy casework.Knowledge of social aspects, attitudes, characteristics and behaviors of mental illness and emotional disturbances.Knowledge of The principles and practices of evaluating, assessing, and providing mental health services.Knowledge of current developments in the field of community mental health.Knowledge of community resources available to mental health programs and program recipients.Knowledge of laws and regulations as they relate to clients' legal rights. SALARY:$30-$32 per hour starting rate based on experience and licensure$5,000 sign on bonus paid out over 2 years Potential to work additional hours in Behavioral Health Community-based programs
