The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Reinsurance Accountant to join our Finance team in our Plymouth, MN office. The Reinsurance Accountant is responsible for moderately complex reinsurance focused activities relating to the creation of IFRS and statutory financial statements, and for internal management reporting, including analysis and interpretation of reinsurance data, reinsurance systems and reinsurance data flows, general ledger account reconciliations for reinsurance related accounts and support of the finance control environment. Some of the Reinsurance Accountant responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists in the preparation and review of monthly reinsurance financial statements, both internally and externally, including statutory and IFRS required reports.
- Analyzes and interprets reinsurance data from several source systems and data warehouses.
- Works with internal and external audit to maintain and support the control environment, including account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepares journal entries and standard accruals for month end reinsurance closings including intercompany transactions.
- Assists in the reinsurance monthly close process.
- Prepares reinsurance account reconciliations and performs maintenance, analysis and research of reinsurance general ledger accounts.
- Performs ad-hoc analysis and reporting for management as required.
- The management team is willing to train in reinsurance.
The expertise you bring
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1-3 years of related reinsurance experience.
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $62,000 – $88,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $79,000 -$92,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
