Job Title: Press Setup Operator – 2nd Shift

Pay rate: $17.00–$19.00/hr $3.00/hr shift differential
Work schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday–Thursday | 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Overview:
The Press Setup Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring press machines to produce quality parts according to job specifications. This position ensures compliance with safety protocols, ISO standards, and quality control procedures while supporting production efficiency. The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Job Specifications:

• Set up and operate press machines according to job specifications and production schedules

• Inspect parts for quality and accuracy using tools including calipers and gauges

• Complete production logs and quality inspection forms accurately

• Perform routine checks and adjustments to ensure consistent machine performance

• Use hand tools and shop equipment to support setup and minor repairs

• Monitor machine operation throughout the shift and address issues promptly

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain workflow and meet production goals

Skills & Experience:

• 1–5 years of experience operating press machines or similar equipment

• Ability to read and interpret production prints and specifications

• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)

• Familiarity with machine controls and basic troubleshooting

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Education:

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school experience preferred

Technical & Language Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and technical documentation

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to complete inspection reports and quality forms accurately

• Skilled with hand tools and shop equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop regularly

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
