Please see the description below with the basic requirements.JOB SUMMARY:The Infection Prevention Professional reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of infectious and communicable diseases. This role provides education to care partners on infection prevention practices and leads the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and nationally recognized infection control guidelines.The Infection Prevention Professional enters and manages data within state and national reporting databases, assesses organization-wide educational needs, and develops targeted education plans and curricula in response to identified goals and infectious or communicable disease trends. The role also participates in infection prevention and safety environmental rounds and provides support to clinical employee health as needed.Additionally, the Infection Prevention Professional plans, develops, and implements quality improvement methodologies to enhance clinical and operational outcomes. This position is responsible for conducting annual reviews and updates to the Infection Control and Prevention Plan for PMC, coordinating and facilitating the Infection Control and Prevention Committee, and preparing timely reports for external agencies as required.RESPONSIBILITIESKey ResponsibilitiesConduct ongoing surveillance, data collection, analysis, and reporting of infectious and communicable diseases; identify trends, risks, and opportunities for intervention.Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based infection prevention practices aligned with industry standards and population health best practices.Serve as a subject matter expert in infection prevention, providing consultation, education, and training to clinical and non-clinical staff to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).Prepare dashboards and reports for medical staff, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary committees.Develop and maintain infection prevention policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and national guidelines.Enter and manage required data in state and national reporting systems.Assess organizational education needs and develop targeted training programs based on infection trends and risk areas.Conduct infection prevention, safety, environmental, and interdisciplinary rounds, including PPE compliance, hand hygiene, environmental safety, and device management.Lead and participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives related to infection control, including hand hygiene, device-associated infections, and surgical site infection prevention.Perform annual review and updates to the Infection Control and Prevention Plan.Coordinate and facilitate the Infection Control and Prevention Committee and prepare required external reports.Investigate and manage suspected infection outbreaks, including containment and mitigation efforts.Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities.Maintain knowledge of fire, disaster, and safety procedures and perform related duties as assigned.*Preferred to have a nurse with an active or inactive license, JOB REQUIREMENTS:*Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s preferred.
