Job Summary
Position Overview:
The Commercial Lines Account Manager is the backbone of our commercial client relationships. You’ll handle day-to-day servicing for a diverse book — contractors, manufacturers, transportation, hospitality — ensuring coverage is accurate, renewals are smooth, and clients feel protected.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their unique insurance needs and providing expert guidance.
- Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities to strengthen client programs
- Manage existing accounts by reviewing policies, processing renewals, and ensuring coverage aligns with client requirements.
- Identify opportunities for new business through outside sales efforts, including telemarketing and retail sales strategies.
- Negotiate policy terms, premiums, and coverage options to secure optimal solutions for clients while meeting company guidelines.
- Conduct analysis of client portfolios to identify gaps or risks, offering tailored recommendations for coverage enhancements.
- Collaborate with underwriters and insurance carriers to facilitate seamless policy issuance and claims processing.
- Assist with sales administration tasks such as documentation, benefits administration, and maintaining accurate client records.
- Communicate complex insurance concepts clearly to clients in multiple languages if applicable, ensuring transparency and understanding.
- Support marketing initiatives by promoting our services through various channels to expand our client base.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining high client satisfaction levels.
Experience
- Proven experience in outside sales or retail sales within the insurance industry or related fields.
- 3 years in Commercial Lines account management
- Active P&C License
- Strong knowledge of commercial coverages (GL, WC, Property, Auto, Umbrella, Bonds)
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals effectively.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse client populations.
- Familiarity with sales administration processes and analysis skills for assessing client needs and risks.
- Knowledge of insurance products related to commercial lines is required.
- Experience in benefits administration or customer service roles enhances your ability to excel in this position.
