Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and support for residents, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Administer medications safely according to care plans and document all medication administration activities meticulously.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and prevent falls. - Maintain detailed care plans that reflect individual needs, progress notes, and any changes in condition or behavior.
- Support residents with cognitive impairments like Alzheimer’s or dementia through memory care techniques and engaging activities.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning living areas, laundry, and ensuring a hygienic environment conducive to health and comfort.
- Engage in patient observation to detect early signs of health issues or behavioral changes, escalating concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, or family members to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
Experience
- Prior experience in home & community care or assisted living environments is highly preferred but not necessary.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and administering first aid or CPR when necessary.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or those requiring hospice or memory care is advantageous.
- Familiarity with care plans development and medication management within a long-term care setting is desirable.
- Proven ability to work effectively with seniors or people with disabilities in a compassionate manner.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to patient privacy and confidentiality is essential.
