The Schedule

1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Overtime opportunities are available during busier periods for those who want to earn more.

What You’ll Do

· Sets up and operates sander and slitting machines that cut rolls to produce coils and sheets into strips for a variety of parts consistent with company standards

· Reviews work order to determine exact specifications. Plans work.

· Sets up and adjustments sander to meet product specifications. Reviews first piece with supervisor.

· Selects, cleans, and installs spacers and cutters on slitting machine arbors according to requirements of the work order. Performs adjustments necessary for specified widths.

· Loads and threads sheeting through slitter and verifies dimension of cut to job specifications. Secures strips, adjusts guides, roller tensions, etc., before starting machine.

· Reviews machine adjustments, runs first piece to ensure machine set up correctly, checks cut strips for flatness, holes, burrs on edges, and surfaces defects. Submits first piece for inspection. Makes adjustments, if necessary. Runs job, and documents work.

· Maintains slitting and sanding machines by oiling and cleaning throughout the operation.

· Maintain 6S and equipment maintenance in work area.

· Any additional duties assigned by management.

EQUIPMENT, MACHINES AND TOOLS

Slitting machine, sander, forklift, material handling jacks, calipers, and micrometers

Qualifications:

- Slitter Machine experience

- Sander experience

- Forklift experience

- Ability to read blueprints

- Preform shop math

- Minimum 3 years machine shop work experience.

- Lifting requirement 10 – 100 lbs.

Noisy and dusty work environment. Protective glasses and ear plugs are required.
