We’re a mechanical insulation contractor looking for a hands-on, organized Assistant Project Manager to help deliver industrial and commercial insulation jobs on time, on budget, and safely. You’ll support the Branch Manager with scheduling, crew coordination, materials, client communication, paperwork, and field quality checks. This role suits someone with construction/site experience who wants to step into a project leadership role.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Branch Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing insulation projects.
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries to meet schedule.
- Maintain daily jobsite records: daily reports, manpower, equipment usage, photos, materials used, and safety logs.
- Track material inventory, place orders, and follow up with purchasing to avoid delays.
- Prepare and manage basic change orders, RFIs, and punch lists in coordination with PM.
- Communicate professionally with general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades; provide progress updates.
- Perform field quality inspections and ensure work meets specifications and company standards.
- Enforce jobsite safety procedures, PPE use, and maintain OSHA-related documentation; report incidents.
- Enter/update project information in job management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, JobProgress) and MS Office/Sheets.
- Assist with basic takeoffs and estimating support when required.
Required qualifications
- 2 years construction or trade experience (insulation experience preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with common insulation materials and installation methods (fiberglass, mineral wool, cellulose).
- Proficient with email, MS Office (Excel/Word) and comfortable learning project management software.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to local job sites.
- Strong communication skills — able to interact with clients, superintendents, and crews.
- Ability to read basic plans/specs and perform simple material takeoffs.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
- Commitment to safety and ability to enforce PPE and safe work practices.
Preferred / nice-to-have
- Prior experience specifically with insulation contracting.
- Experience with basic estimating or bidding software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus for diverse crews/clients.
Working conditions & physical demands
- Work is a mix of office (estimates, scheduling, paperwork) and field (site supervision, inspections).
- Frequent on-site visits.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs occasionally, wear required PPE, and stand/stoop/climb during site visits.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
