What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Inspector / Inventor Control position at Insulated Wire Inc.?
Insulated Wire Inc., a manufacturer of high-performance wire and RF/microwave cable, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Inspector / Inventory Control employee for our Bayport, NY facility.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming raw materials and components for damage, quantity, dimensions, and specification compliance
- Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and certifications
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials
- Receive and issue materials accurately in the inventory system
- Label, organize, and maintain raw materials and finished goods
- Perform regular cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
- Manage and coordinate quarterly and annual physical inventory counts
- Reconcile inventory-count results and ensure adjustments are properly documented
- Maintain material traceability, lot numbers, and inspection records
- Prepare and issue materials for production work orders
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Quality, Production, and Shipping
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and accurate stockroom
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in receiving inspection, inventory control, manufacturing, or quality inspection preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
- Ability to read purchase orders, specifications, and measuring instruments
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, or similar inspection tools is helpful
- Ability to lift and move materials safely
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Experience managing physical inventory counts is preferred
- Experience in an AS9100 or ISO-certified manufacturing environment is a plus
Position Details:
- Full-time position
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
- Location: Bayport, New York
- Competitive pay based on experience
