General Laborer- 2nd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY:

Instrument Development Company (IDC) is seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our production team as General Laborers. This position supports multiple manufacturing areas and provides employees with the opportunity to work in various departments while learning different processes used in the production of precision components for the aerospace and defense industries.

The General Laborer will perform a variety of tasks including washing parts, blast operations, assembly, Wire EDM support, saw operations, and water jet operations while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Wash Operations

• Clean and prepare components using approved washing equipment and procedures.
• Ensure parts are free of contaminants prior to the next manufacturing step.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of wash areas.

Blast Operations

• Operate blasting equipment to clean, deburr, or prepare parts.
• Inspect parts for proper surface finish and quality requirements.
• Follow established work instructions and safety procedures.

Assembly

• Assemble components according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• Verify part accuracy and completeness before advancing work orders.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices as required.

Wire EDM Support

• Load and unload materials and completed parts.
• Assist with part preparation and secondary operations.
• Maintain work area organization and assist operators as needed.

Saw Operations

• Operate saw equipment to cut raw materials to specified lengths.
• Verify dimensions using measuring instruments.
• Ensure proper identification and handling of materials.

Water Jet Operations

• Load and unload materials from water jet equipment.
• Perform basic machine support functions and part handling.
• Inspect completed parts for quality and conformance.

General Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Read and follow job travelers and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Meet quality and productivity expectations.
• Cross-train in multiple departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
