What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Software and Online Learning Coordinator position at INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY?
The Instructional Software and Online Learning Coordinator works in the Instructional Technology Department and serves as a liaison to the Department of Teaching and Learning with a focus on online learning and applications. The role involves managing and supporting the division's online learning program and facilitating the use of instructional software tools for students, teachers, and staff.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all online learning initiatives across the division including credit recovery and accelerated learning opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and instructional support related to the division's online learning application (LMS).
- Manage and maintain the division's online learning platform, ensuring its alignment with instructional goals.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to online learning, including accessibility and best practices.
- Serves as a School Board Office (SBO) point of contact in the implementation of blended learning curriculum and programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for technical support of software applications provided by the departments of Instructional Technology and Teaching and Learning.
- Act as a liaison between the Instructional Technology Department and third-party software application vendors.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of software applications approved for use within Spotsylvania County Public Schools.
- Assist in the evaluation of new software applications to determine their suitability and alignment with instructional needs.
- Facilitate the integration of resources between the LMS and third-party applications.
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality professional learning opportunities for faculty and staff on the effective use of the online learning platform and other instructional technology tools.
- Facilitate the Instructional Technology Advisory Committee, fostering collaboration and input from stakeholders across the division.
- Participate in meetings and committees as appropriate, representing the Instructional Technology Department and contributing to division-wide initiatives.
- Work with the Director of Instructional Technology on the management of student data privacy agreements related to instructional software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s)
- Ability to obtain additional appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
- Five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a K-12 setting

Employment Terms: Employment is offered as an 12-month (243 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked daily. This position is evaluated annually.
