Trenton, NJ Full Time
POSTED ON 10/3/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/1/2025

About the Role

Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for building accurate, competitive estimates? We’re looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our team and play a key role in shaping the success of our infrastructure projects. From pump stations and treatment plants to roadway lighting, ITS systems, tolling, and bridges—you’ll ensure every project starts on the right foundation.

In this role, you won’t just crunch numbers—you’ll collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to deliver precise, professional proposals that set the stage for smooth, on-time, and on-budget project execution. Your expertise in electrical design, industry standards, and local codes will help drive confidence and clarity at every step.

What You’ll Do – Estimate with Precision. Build with Purpose.

  • Own the Process: Review specifications and drawings in detail, submit RFIs, and perform comprehensive electronic take-offs from RFP documentation.
  • Source Smartly: Acquire accurate material pricing, research costs, and gather subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Analyze and Assess: Evaluate labor, equipment, materials, and risk factors—leveraging company data and software tools to refine estimates.
  • Develop Proposals: Create detailed scopes of work, bills of materials, and professional client-facing proposals.
  • Stay Connected: Conduct weekly follow-ups with clients on pending proposals and attend virtual project kick-off meetings after award.
  • Collaborate and Review: Partner with department leaders to review larger bids and ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business goals.

What You Bring

  • 3 years of electrical-focused experience in industrial (pump stations, treatment plants), transportation infrastructure (roadway lighting, ITS, tolling, bridges), or construction.
  • Strong math aptitude and ability to analyze data, exchange rates, and pricing.
  • Experience with estimating software (Accubid preferred) and familiarity with tools like Bluebeam, Smartsheets, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Project, Teams).
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and subcontractor requirements with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with project managers, clients, and partners.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business, construction, or related field preferred.
  • BICSI certification in progress a plus, though not required for the electrical/utility side.

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Your estimates will directly shape the success of critical infrastructure projects.
  • Growth: Gain hands-on experience with complex projects while developing your expertise in advanced estimating software and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with a team of project managers, engineers, and industry professionals who value accuracy and excellence.
  • Stability: Be part of a company with a strong reputation in utility and transportation infrastructure.
  • Perks: Competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for continued learning and certification.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Standard office environment with regular sitting, standing, walking, and minimal lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Work may occasionally involve site visits.
