Part-Time Seasonal Garden Center Merchandiser (Independent Contractor)
Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour
InStore Merchandisers is seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our team as Part-Time Seasonal Garden Center Merchandisers for the fall garden center season. This is an Independent Contractor position working in Walmart garden centers, merchandising and caring for plants supplied by Bergen's Greenhouses and other growers.
We are looking for help at the following Walmart Garden Center locations:
- Sioux Falls, SD (5200 W 60th N)
- Sioux Falls, SD (3209 S Louise Ave)
- Sioux Falls, SD (7821 S Minnesota Ave)
- Sioux Falls, SD (5521 E Arrowhead Pkwy)
- Mitchell, SD (1101 E Spruce St)
Our fall season runs August through September with possible October hours as well. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with our company before our larger and longer spring season! Outstanding contractors may have opportunities to continue working with us during future seasonal programs throughout the year.
Job Responsibilities
As an In-Store Merchandiser, you will be responsible for maintaining an attractive, healthy, and well-organized garden center. Duties include:
- Merchandising and organizing plant displays
- Watering plants and monitoring overall plant health
- Removing damaged or unsellable product
- Consolidating and maintaining clean, full displays
- Assisting with seasonal resets and display changes
Because fall plants are shipped during hot and often dry weather, watering is one of the most important responsibilities of this position. Successful merchandisers take pride in keeping plants healthy and looking their best throughout the season.
