Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optical Lab Technician to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this role include edging, blocking, and mounting eyewear to ensure precise and high-quality finished products. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edge, block, and mount eyewear lenses according to prescriptions and specifications.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment, ensuring it is clean and in good working order.
- Inspect finished lenses for accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments.
- Keep detailed records of work performed and maintain organized workflow.
- Follow all safety and operational protocols within the lab.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with lab equipment or processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- ABOC Certification a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Optical Lab Technician/Optician or in a similar role is required.
- Proficiency in operating optical lab equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM shift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
