Role Description The VN Instructor/Clinical Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based at the Modesto, CA campus. This position is responsible for planning and delivering classroom and skills lab instruction for Vocational Nursing students, using approved curricula and evidence-based teaching methods. The role includes coordinating clinical placements, maintaining relationships with clinical sites, scheduling rotations, and ensuring compliance with program and regulatory requirements. The VN Instructor/Clinical Coordinator assesses student performance, provides feedback and remediation, maintains accurate records, and supports learners in meeting program competencies and professional standards. The position also participates in faculty meetings, program improvement initiatives, and ongoing collaboration with the nursing education team.

Qualifications

• Relevant instructional and curriculum skills, including experience teaching or training in nursing or healthcare education, and the ability to develop lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments.
• Clinical coordination and organizational skills, such as managing clinical site relationships, scheduling rotations, tracking student placements, and ensuring compliance with clinical and program requirements.
• Student support and communication skills, including the ability to provide clear guidance, constructive feedback, mentorship, and maintain professional, inclusive interactions with diverse learners.
• Regulatory and professional practice knowledge, including familiarity with state nursing board standards, clinical policies, documentation requirements, and current vocational nursing practices.
• Collaboration and teamwork skills, including working effectively with faculty, staff, and clinical partners, and contributing to program evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Active, unencumbered Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse license in the state of California, with relevant clinical experience in acute, long-term, or community care settings.
• Previous teaching or precepting experience in nursing education or healthcare training is strongly preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; an advanced degree in nursing or education is an asset.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications, learning management systems, and electronic documentation tools.
