What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Assistant position at Institute for Human Service?
Essential functions:
Responsible for facilitating the safety and welfare of IHS guests and volunteers.
Communicate and assist available resources to IHS guests and offer the gift of hope.
Ensure the sites are free of hazards; uphold policies, and provide supportive assistance for all guests while treating them with respect and dignity.
Document daily, supervise in-house and community volunteers and provide support to the clinical programs when needed.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of CPR, and CPI- conflict resolution techniques.
Possess good written communication and basic computer skills to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
Able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and/or overnight shifts.
Able to multitask, work independently and exercise good judgment.
Preferred Experience and Education:
Experience in providing excellent customer service with some experience in a group home, care home or homeless shelter setting
Valid Driver’s License and clean traffic abstract
Experience with crisis prevention/response and de-escalation.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Expected Hours of Work: Hours include some evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours and days may vary based on the needs of the organization. Must be available to work one or more of the following shifts as scheduled:
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM and/or
2:00 PM - 10:30 PM and/or
10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
**May or may not work at multiple sites
