Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Financial Aid plays a critical role in assisting the Director of Financial Aid in overseeing and managing all aspects of the financial aid program at ATI. This position requires a deep understanding of financial aid regulations, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to providing financial support to students to help them achieve their educational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures.
- Evaluate financial aid applications, determine eligibility, and award financial aid packages in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
- Provide guidance and support to students and families throughout the financial aid application process.
- Collaborate with the Director of Financial Aid to allocate financial aid resources effectively and efficiently.
- Stay current on federal and state financial aid regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Assist with financial aid audits and reviews, ensuring all records and documentation are accurate and complete.
- Mentor financial aid staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff to keep them informed about changes in financial aid regulations and best practices.
- Assist students and families in understanding their financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, loans, and workstudy programs.
- Provide financial aid counseling to address individual student needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with admissions and other college departments to develop and implement outreach and education programs to promote financial literacy and inform students about available financial aid resources.
- Represent the institution at financial aid workshops, college fairs, and other events.
- Analyze financial aid data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports and presentations to inform senior leadership about the state of the financial aid program.
- Repackaging the financial aid for students with more than one academic year.
- When a FAFSA is rejected, assist with the compliance delays.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree in a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in financial aid administration.
- Thorough knowledge of federal financial aid regulations.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in financial aid management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
