Ideal Candidates
- Individuals who love working with adults, elderly, and helping individuals
- Students studying Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Human Development, or related fields

- Nursing home facilitators, Program administrators
- B.A. in education, psychology, or related field or at least 1 year experience relevant to employment, relationship and/or skill building with persons with developmental disabilities
- Valid California Driver’s License and operational vehicle
- Possess a reliable automobile and be willing to transport clients
- Possess physical ability to:
- Physically assist, guide, & facilitate movement of consumers that need physical assistance (e.g., transfer in/out of wheelchair, support while walking, etc..
- Must complete ACRE training within first 90 days
- Same as for Employment Specialists:
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals with developmental disabilities with varying physical, social, cognitive, and behavioral support needs.
- Conduct themselves in a professional, responsible and reliable manner
- Have the motivation to learn new skills and help people
- Demonstrate honesty and respect
- Adhere to written support plans for clients
- Prior training and/or experience in ABA are a plus!
- In addition:
- Assists STEP Management Team with service oversight and implementation
- Completes all Advance Competency Based Training according to written schedule
- Provides substitute coverage if an Employment Specialist is absent.
- Provides hands-on assistance and training to Employment Specialists, including being primary contact person for several Employment Specialists, thereby reviewing their work on a weekly basis.
- Communicates with assigned Employment Specialists on a weekly basis, including holding regular contact meetings, to provide support and assistance to them and communicate any issues with STEP Management Team and/or outside entities.
- Facilitates Periodic Service Reviews and coordinate follow-up activities to assist in addressing identified opportunities for improvement.
- Conducts Field Visits for assigned Employment Specialist or other staff members, as assigned, to evaluate services, monitor employee performance, troubleshoot, and/or provide on-going training.
- Maintains employer relations, including obtaining evaluations of Employment Specialists.
- Conducts Procedural and Inter-observer reliability checks for assigned Employment Specialist or other team members as assigned.
- Communicates with outside entities (e.g., parents, care-providers, Regional Center, employers, etc.) regarding the status of consumers on a consistent basis and as needed as circumstances arise.
- Devises data-based teaching strategies, behavior support plans, and functional community integrated curriculum.
- Starts new consumers in program including developing functional service day and completing all related paperwork (e.g., site set up checklist, notebooks, etc.).
- Develops new job sites.
