What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing position at Instant?
The VP of Marketing will own the external-facing brand, manage and work closely with the sales team to produce campaigns that move the needle, providing sales-enablement support along the way. This position requires a proven track record of executing demand generation strategies that drive revenue, and a self-starter mentality for rolling up their sleeves to get the job done.

Responsibilities
- Own demand generation campaign strategy results by crafting differentiated B2B campaigns that stand out amongst the noise, scaling existing channels, and running experiments to establish new ones
- Be a core member of the executive team, and report to the board of directors on a regular basis
- Execute campaigns independently, as well as via contractors, agencies, and internal resources (as the team grows), crafting B2B campaigns that stand out amongst the noise
- Work closely with the sales team to further refine target audiences messaging and provide sales-enablement support (content, materials, templates), ensuring end-to-end success of campaigns and in-person events throughout a busy conference calendar
- Take ownership of Instant’s online brand presence, including technical SEO website optimization (content, linking strategy, keyword development, etc.)
- Manage multiple agency relationships with creative producers and current campaign owners, identifying which expertise / workflows need to be outsourced vs. moved in-house
- Measure, analyze, report, and optimize the performance of demand-gen programs to find the perfect balance between lead quality and spend
- Develop a culture of testing and experimentation, sharing learnings with teammates in sales and marketing throughout the process
- Get your hands dirty - design, develop, and improve processes every step of the way
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in B2B marketing, with at least 2-3 years in a high-growth startup environment (bonus points if with a FinTech / payments product or service)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications (or relevant field) [MBA or Master’s a strong plus]
- Proven experience in building and executing demand generation programs from the ground up that drive revenue and support sales growth
- Strong project management skills to effectively deliver programs and create alignment across groups, leading by example throughout the project lifecycle
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Proficiency with leading marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools
- The ability to execute independently, but also source and manage high-quality talent to scale your impact
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that allow you to build report with coworkers and clients alike
