Technical Business Analyst

Overview

Our client is building a unified, scalable, company-wide strategy for how media is created, stored, configured, and managed. This role sits within a highly technical environment and works cross-functionally with media systems engineers, infrastructure teams, broadcast operations, and post-production groups. The goal: standardize workflows, clarify system interactions, and create a centralized source of truth for internal technical documentation.

The Technical Business Analyst will work side-by-side with engineering teams to document requirements, map end-to-end workflows, and translate complex media technology concepts into clear, actionable documentation and diagrams. Your work will become foundational content shaping the future of enterprise-level media and entertainment pipelines.

What You’ll Do

• Partner daily with media systems and infrastructure engineers to gather technical details and workflow logic
• Translate complex engineering concepts into clear internal documentation used across the organization
• Build structured artifacts including workflow maps, diagrams, user stories, specifications, and process documentation
• Capture detailed technical requirements that inform future-state roadmaps and architecture decisions
• Operate autonomously in a highly secure, fast-paced, engineering-heavy environment
• Serve as a key contributor to a company-wide initiative defining how media flows through enterprise systems

Key QualificationsTechnical Aptitude & Learning Agility

• Ability to rapidly understand complex media technologies
• Strong self-learning strategies (AI tools, sandbox testing, documentation review, etc.)
• Comfortable sitting with engineers, asking the right questions, and navigating deeply technical discussions

Media & Entertainment Workflow Knowledge

• Understanding of how media flows through pipelines (e.g., storage, ingest, transcode, broadcast, post-production)
• Experience with media systems, broadcast environments, or post-production workflows
• Ability to convert engineering details into structured, scalable documentation

Business Analyst Experience

• 3 years as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar technical role
• Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder-interviewing skills
• Experience creating user stories, specifications, diagrams, and workflow documentation
• Able to work independently with little direction

Nice to Have

• Technical Writing experience
• Ability to create visually polished workflow diagrams and architecture maps
• Familiarity with internal documentation style guidelines
• Prior hands-on engineering experience before transitioning into BA/PO work
• Experience partnering closely with engineering, product, and operations teams
