Software Engineer
ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY
The Software Engineer will work on a high-impact agent framework powering backend prototypes for Large Language Model applications in customer support. These systems are critical to our product strategy and are currently being piloted and demoed to the executive team. You'll be responsible for building and scaling a backend framework that serves intelligent agents, supporting advanced frontends and integrations into larger applications. Your work will directly contribute to how customers interact with their AI-driven support tools.
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
- Design, implement, and maintain core backend components of the LLM-powered agent framework in Rust
- Architect systems that safely and efficiently manage memory and concurrency, taking full advantage of Rust's semantics
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and AI research teams to prototype and productionize new customer support workflows
- Integrate various frontend and enterprise applications with LLM backends
- Optimize data structures and algorithms for performance and scalability
- Contribute to the use of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and prompt engineering techniques
- Evaluate, integrate, and iterate on open-source or proprietary LLM ecosystems and tooling
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- 2 years of experience programming in Rust, with a deep understanding of:
- Ownership and the borrow checker
- Asynchronous and concurrent programming models in Rust (async/await, tokio, etc.)
- Strong grasp of data structures and algorithms, with working knowledge of:
- Trees, graphs, hash maps, and traversal/search algorithms
- Algorithmic complexity and performance trade-offs
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience working with or building systems around LLMs
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering and designing LLM prompts for structured outputs
- Familiarity with RAG pipelines
- Exposure to serving models in production or integrating AI services into product environments
