Title: Data, Analytics, & Reporting Audit Specialist
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Compensation: $30-$40/hr

About the Role:

• We are seeking experienced Data, Analytics & Reporting Audit Specialists to support a large, global financial services organization. This role will focus on auditing and validating data management, processing, and reporting environments as part of a broader regulatory remediation initiative.
• The ideal candidate combines a strong Internal Audit background with hands-on technical expertise across SQL, Python, data analytics, and data management. This individual must be comfortable reviewing how data moves through complex environments, evaluating underlying code and transformations, testing controls, and documenting audit conclusions.

 
Key Responsibilities

• Audit data management systems, data processing solutions, and data consumption processes
• Review and validate Python code used to process and transform data
• Review and validate SQL queries and statements used to transform data and generate results
• Assess Database Management Systems (DBMS) and associated data management processes
• Audit reporting and analytics solutions, including platforms such as Alteryx
• Evaluate derived datasets, data cubes, reports, and ad-hoc analytics
• Trace and validate end-to-end data lineage across processing, management, reporting, and analytics environments
• Evaluate data access, protection, and associated controls
• Test internally developed data and reporting controls
• Support regulatory remediation, issue validation, and audit testing
• Develop clear, audit-quality workpapers and communicate findings to stakeholders

 
Required Qualifications

• 7 years of relevant audit experience
• Strong, hands-on Internal Audit experience
• Experience within global banking or financial services
• Significant data analytics and/or data audit experience
• Strong hands-on SQL and Python skills
• Ability to read and validate SQL and Python code from an audit perspective
• Experience auditing data processing, transformations, and reporting/analytics environments
• Strong understanding of data lineage, data management, and data controls
• Strong audit testing, documentation, and workpaper development skills
• Ability to independently manage testing and communicate conclusions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Consent order and/or issue validation experience
• Regulatory remediation experience
• Alteryx experience
• DBMS audit experience
• Experience auditing internally developed banking controls
