Science Instructional Strategist Part-time, Per Diem | Residents only NJ, NY, PA

Inspired Instruction is seeking a Science Instructional Strategist for a part-time, per diem role supporting school districts in North (Newark), New Jersey.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

• Anticipated work schedule: 2 to 4 days per month, $600 per diem rate
• Includes mileage and toll reimbursement in accordance with company policy
• Travel Requirement: 60 miles (one-way) from home residence

Start and Engagement Timeline:

• Availability to Start: Mid-September (training phase only, home office.)
• Field engagements: Begin first week of November

The Instructional Strategist is responsible for delivering high-quality in-person professional development, coaching and support to teachers and school leaders. Our Instructional Strategist are instrumental in creating meaningful relationships to ultimately help students reach their full potential. Through workshops, demonstration lessons, and coaching within partner schools.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with schools to build teacher and administrative capacity through evidence- based coaching, curriculum, and professional development
• Develop positive working relationships with a diverse group of teachers and administrators through large group sessions as well as individualized side-by-side support
• Evaluate data and conduct in-class visits to assess and communicate professional learning plans that strengthen academic performance, school culture and climate
• Support schools in strengthening pedagogy and implementing instructional planning to ensure effective teaching in classrooms
• Lead schools in reviewing, developing, organizing and implementing rigorous standards-aligned curriculum

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of full-time K-12 classroom teaching experience within grades 5-12 with proven experience in Science instruction
• Experience in administrative and/or principal roles is highly valued but does not count toward the classroom teaching minimum.
• Experience as a substitute teacher will not count toward the classroom teaching minimum
• Teaching Certification(s): Valid certification authorizing science instruction at the elementary, middle and/or secondary level.
• Available to work a minimum of 2 to 4 days per month
• Must be willing to travel by personal transportation up to 60-mile radius one-way from residence for scheduled in-person engagements
• Requires use of personal technology equipment (laptop computer, mobile device, and working camera) to be used during on-site workshop facilitation at client locations
• Strong working knowledge of the State Standards
• High level of competence in facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability using Google Classroom and Workspace tools, Zoom, and other education-related technology tools
• Reliable, high-speed internet to participate in ongoing professional growth
• Current or expired teaching and/or administration certification copies
• Not engaged in or pursuing full-time employment (M-F, 8am-5pm)
• Successfully pass content assessments to continue in selection process
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check

Preferred Requirements:

• Master’s Degree
• Minimum 3 years of teacher leadership experience (e.g. Supervisor, Instructional Coach, Master Teacher, Lead Teacher)
• Virtual Teaching and Learning experience
• Professional Development experience (design, implementation, facilitation and leading)
