Job Description 

The IT Support Specialist will provide daily technical support and assist with the administration, maintenance, and security of the company’s IT infrastructure. This role works directly under the IT Manager and supports manufacturing and business operations by maintaining reliable systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with cybersecurity and compliance initiatives. 

The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-service oriented, and experienced in Windows environments, networking fundamentals, endpoint management, and user support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 


Responsibilities 

• Provide day-to-day technical support for users, workstations, printers, mobile devices, and business applications. 

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices. 

• Assist with administration of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Group Policy. 

• Support onboarding and offboarding processes including account provisioning, access permissions, and equipment setup. 

• Monitor and maintain endpoint security tools, antivirus systems, and patch management processes. 

• Assist the IT Manager with cybersecurity initiatives and compliance efforts related to NIST 800-171, CMMC Level 2, and DFARS requirements. 

• Troubleshoot networking issues involving switches, firewalls, VPN connections, wireless systems, and printers. 

• Support data backup processes and assist with disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. 

• Document IT procedures, configurations, inventory, and troubleshooting processes. 

• Escalate complex technical issues to the IT Manager when necessary. 

• Assist with deployment of new hardware, software, and infrastructure upgrades. 

• Maintain IT inventory including computers, networking equipment, software licenses, and related assets. 

• Provide basic user training and guidance on cybersecurity best practices and company IT policies. 

• Respond to help desk requests in a timely and professional manner. 

• Stay current on emerging technologies and security threats. 


Required Experience / Skills 

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. 

• 1–3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or help desk environments. 

• Experience supporting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory environments. 

• Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless networking. 

• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection systems. 

• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues. 

• Strong customer service and communication skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

• Organized with strong attention to detail. 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 


Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in a manufacturing environment. 

• Familiarity with NIST 800-171 or CMMC compliance requirements. 

• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, or virtualization technologies. 

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , or Microsoft certifications preferred. 


Physical Requirements 

This position is classified as light to medium work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, working at a computer terminal, and reviewing technical documentation. 

• Stooping – Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. 

• Kneeling – Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. 

• Crouching – Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. 

• Crawling – Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. 

• Reaching – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. 

• Standing – For sustained periods of time when required. 

• Walking – Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. 

• Pushing – Using upper extremities to exert force to move objects. 

• Pulling – Using upper extremities to draw, haul, or tug objects. 

• Lifting – Raising objects from lower to higher positions or moving horizontally. 

• Fingering – Typing or working with fingers primarily rather than the whole hand. 

• Grasping – Applying pressure with fingers and palm. 

• Feeling – Perceiving attributes of objects through touch. 

• Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word. 

• Hearing – Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication. 

• Repetitive Motion – Substantial movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
