Location: Discovery Years VTSD Preschool Expansion Program– Vernon, NJ
Job Type: Full-Time/On-Call
Job Description:
Discovery Years is seeking reliable and passionate Substitute Teachers to support our early childhood education programs. This position provides a great opportunity for educators who enjoy working with children and have flexible availability. Substitute Teachers will step in as needed to ensure a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for our students.
Responsibilities:
- Follow lesson plans and classroom routines provided by the lead teacher.
- Supervise and engage with children in a positive and supportive manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Communicate effectively with staff and parents as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Active Subtitiue Teaching Certificate
- Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Must pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
