Job Summary
This is a full time position, with 3 12 hour shifts weekly!
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care Team. This role involves assisting with patient intake, vital signs, medication administration, and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Experience in hospital settings, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is highly valued. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering high-quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures, including medication administration and basic life support when necessary.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments; assist with X-ray procedures when applicable.
- Document patient interactions accurately using EHR systems; manage ICD coding for diagnoses.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital settings; clinic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration.
- Experience working in urgent care, emergency medicine, or trauma centers (Level I & II) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
