Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time Awake Overnight (IDD Residential Group Home)
Schedule: Full-Time | Awake Overnight (typically 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM)

About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and caring Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a residential group home setting. This awake overnight position ensures a safe, clean, and supportive home environment while residents sleep.
Key Responsibilities (more comprehensive job description will be provided prior to interview
- Awake Overnight Supervision: Remain alert and responsive throughout the night to ensure resident safety and security.
- Sanitizing & Cleaning: Perform nightly cleaning tasks including disinfecting bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas; doing laundry; and preparing the home for the following day.
- Resident Care: Offer assistance with bedtime and morning routines, personal care, and hygiene as needed.
- Monitoring & Safety Checks: Conduct scheduled checks on residents to ensure comfort and wellbeing; document and report any concerns promptly.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications per training and record accurately in documentation systems.
- Documentation: Complete all overnight logs, cleaning checklists, and communication notes clearly and on time.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with day shift staff and supervisors to maintain consistency of care. Attend staff meetings on a monthly basis.
- Promote Respect & Dignity: Provide person-centered support that encourages independence and self-worth.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Previous experience working with adults with IDD (preferred)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required for some shifts)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform cleaning and care tasks
- Must pass Level 2 background screening and all required trainings (provided)
- Minimum 1 year experience working with person with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a group home or caregiver setting.
