Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant to support our educational team in providing exceptional learning experiences for exceptional students with diverse learning backgrounds . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities and Autism. This role requires effective communication skills, a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, and the ability to implement accommodations while promoting positive behavior management strategies.
Duties
- Assist in the development and implementation of lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a structured and engaging learning environment.
- Work closely with students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, to facilitate their learning and development.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt curriculum materials for students with varying abilities.
- Engage in behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions among students.
- Provide support in early childhood education settings, focusing on childhood development and literacy education.
- Foster a nurturing atmosphere.
- Document student progress and assist in the preparation of academic plans as needed.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities using approved classroom communication methods.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, particularly in special education or early childhood settings.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and effective teaching strategies.
- Familiarity with how to work with blended learning groups and individualized instruction methods.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Background in behavior management techniques and curriculum development.
- Experience in lesson planning that incorporates literacy education, math concepts, and classroom activities tailored for diverse learners.
- Prior experience in private school environments is a plus.
- Certification or coursework in Exceptional Student Education or Psychology
