Position Overview
Join a highly skilled obstetric and gynecologic team as a full-time OB/GYN Hospitalist at a major teaching hospital in Connecticut. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive inpatient care to labor and delivery patients, manage acute obstetric and gynecologic consultations, participate in resident education, and perform emergent procedures in a collaborative, supportive environment.
The Role:
Attend to laboring patients admitted from clinic and assumed-care referrals from community physicians
Provide medical consultation and emergency coverage for acute obstetric and gynecologic cases across hospital units
Perform emergent gynecologic surgeries
Provide resident supervision and teaching
Support midwifery services as backup
Contribute to medical staff utilization management and clinical effectiveness initiatives
Enhance quality and safety of inpatient obstetric care
Schedule & Lifestyle:
14 twelve-hour shifts per month
Flexible day/night rotation (7AM"7PM and 7PM"7AM shifts)
No call responsibilities
Strong work-life balance with predictable scheduling
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree
Board-eligible or board-certified in OB/GYN
Active state medical license
Fetal heart rate (FHR) monitoring certification required following hire
