What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jazz Dance Instructor/Choreographer position at Inspire Dance Centre?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Jazz teacher to join our dance studio. The ideal candidate should be passionate about dance and have a strong background in Jazz, with previous teaching experience.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Jazz classes
- Implement our syllabus into your weekly lesson plans
- Create choreography for performances & possible competitions
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance
- Collaborate with other dance teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and productive learning environment
- Attend meetings and events as required
Requirements:
- Jazz training
- Teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of Jazz technique and terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about dance and committed to the development of students' skills and abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours
We have openings in our youth Jazz program for ages 6 - 18, with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. If you are passionate about teaching and sharing your love of Jazz with students of all ages and skill levels, we would love to hear from you.

COVID-19 considerations:
Inspire Dance Centre follows City, State, and CDC guidelines. All studios have MEDICAL GRADE AIR PURIFIERS. Our students sanitize their hands before & after class, and require them to stay home when ill.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Gresham, OR 97030: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
- dance teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
