Job Summary
The Moderate/Severe Special Education Teacher provides specialized academic instruction and behavioral support to students with moderate to severe disabilities in a structured classroom setting. The teacher is responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), delivering differentiated instruction aligned with California State Standards (or Essential Standards), and creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence. This position requires strong classroom management skills, the ability to implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs), collaborate with related service providers, and maintain consistent communication with families. The teacher will collect and analyze student data, monitor progress toward IEP goals, and ensure compliance with federal and state special education laws and regulations. The ideal candidate is patient, highly organized, team-oriented, and committed to supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, communication, and functional needs.
Requirements / Qualifications

Incomplete applications may not be considered: -Credential Copy – Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Moderate/Severe Disabilities or Extensive Support Needs) with English Learner Authorization. -Resume – Current resume outlining education, certifications, and relevant experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities. -Letter of Introduction – A brief statement describing your experience, instructional philosophy, and interest in working in a Moderate/Severe Special Education setting. -Letters of Recommendation (2–3) – Recent professional letters (dated within the last 12 months preferred). -Transcripts – Unofficial transcripts verifying degree conferral (official transcripts required upon hire). Applicants selected for hire will also be required to complete DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance and provide current TB clearance prior to employment.
