Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and meet service timelines
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or catering environment preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Experience with recipe adherence, meal preparation, and food industry best practices is highly desirable
- Proven ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and follow sanitation protocols
