What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Pharmacy Technician position at Inspira Health Network?
MAJOR FUNCTION:
Performs the manual technical tasks involved with the proper storage, distribution, packaging and labeling of drugs, obtaining patient's clinical and prescription plan coverage information, review of new and/or refill prescription, associated record keeping and patient charging systems. Works under the direct supervision and control of a Registered Pharmacist. Follows proper procedures for the operation of equipment and use of supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Retail Pharmacy technician experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Valid NJ Driver's license required.
- NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Pharmacy Technician Licensure required within 6 months of employment in this position.
- National Certifications for Pharmacy Technicians CPHT from the following agencies: PTCB, NHA, ASHP/ACPE preferred.
- NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Certified Immunization Pharmacy Technician preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
