Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two (2) years’ experience as a Porter or related position
- Experience in and passion for working with seniors
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Personal Characteristics
- Oral and written comprehension and expression - Must be able to convey & understand information and ideas in English
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular situation
- Mathematical Reasoning - Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members
- Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
- Ability to bend, stretch, stoop and reach repeatedly without difficulty
- Able to perform tasks which may be physically demanding such as pushing, bending and lifting up to 60 pounds
- Exerting up to 60 pounds of force regularly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
- Utilize technology as a means of communication necessary to support resident needs and ensure operational compliance as well as resident safety and security
Typical Work Duties & Functions Duties & Functions
- Provides outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community
- Supports Concierge Department in ensuring all visitors are screened and checked in according to Inspīr policy
- Assists with move-in and move-out of residents, including physical moving of resident belongings
- Delivery and physical set-up/take-down of the residence, including all furniture, equipment and fixtures based upon floor plan provided
- Deliver residents’ mail and packages
- Ensure building entrance is unobstructed and free of clutter at all times
- Direct guests to the reception area or the appropriate office/room upon entry into the building
- Run errands for residents upon request or as directed by management
- Reports damages throughout the building to the Concierge Services Manager
- Complies with health and safety regulations
- Follows evacuation rules of building in case of emergencies
- Participate in on-going in-service and training requirements
- Follow emergency procedures
- Understand and comply with all Inspīr safety practices and procedures
- Carries out other duties as assigned

- Property operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
- Required to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Required to work extended hours and to report to work during times of need including inclement weather and when building concerns arise
- Could be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents due to mental infirmities
- Criminal background check required
