Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a Porter or related position
  • Experience in and passion for working with seniors

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Personal Characteristics

  • Oral and written comprehension and expression - Must be able to convey & understand information and ideas in English
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular situation
  • Mathematical Reasoning - Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members
  • Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
  • Ability to bend, stretch, stoop and reach repeatedly without difficulty
  • Able to perform tasks which may be physically demanding such as pushing, bending and lifting up to 60 pounds
  • Exerting up to 60 pounds of force regularly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
  • Utilize technology as a means of communication necessary to support resident needs and ensure operational compliance as well as resident safety and security 

Typical Work Duties & Functions Duties & Functions

  • Provides outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community
  • Supports Concierge Department in ensuring all visitors are screened and checked in according to Inspīr policy
  • Assists with move-in and move-out of residents, including physical moving of resident belongings
  • Delivery and physical set-up/take-down of the residence, including all furniture, equipment and fixtures based upon floor plan provided
  • Deliver residents’ mail and packages
  • Ensure building entrance is unobstructed and free of clutter at all times
  • Direct guests to the reception area or the appropriate office/room upon entry into the building
  • Run errands for residents upon request or as directed by management
  • Reports damages throughout the building to the Concierge Services Manager
  • Complies with health and safety regulations
  • Follows evacuation rules of building in case of emergencies
  • Participate in on-going in-service and training requirements
  • Follow emergency procedures
  • Understand and comply with all Inspīr safety practices and procedures
  • Carries out other duties as assigned 

Working Conditions

  •  Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including COVID-19, HIV, AIDS and Hepatitis B & C viruses Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.

  • Outdoors/Indoors
  • Around chemicals, fumes and or odor hazards
  • Around dust and or mite hazards
  • Property operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
  • Required to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Required to work extended hours and to report to work during times of need including inclement weather and when building concerns arise
  •  Could be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents due to mental infirmities
  • Criminal background check required
