The Office of the Inspector General’s Human Resources Unit has one opening for a Staff Services Manager I (Supervisory) to oversee the Transactions, Benefits, Position Control, and Backgrounds Unit. This position is located at 10111 Old Placerville Road, Suite 110

Under direction of the Personnel Officer (Staff Services Manager II Supervisory), the Staff Services Manager I (Supervisory) incumbent functions as the Transactions Unit Manager and is responsible for overseeing Personnel Specialists (PS) through subordinate Associate Governmental Program Analysts (AGPA) to provide a high level of customer service in the administration of payroll, leave accounting, appointments, separations, position control, backgrounds, and workforce and succession planning. The incumbent develops and/or revises policies and procedures to ensure departmental compliance with federal and state civil service human resources (HR) related laws, regulations, control agency policies and directives, and Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) and handles the most sensitive and complex projects or issues.
This position is eligible for hybrid teleworking under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, with a minimum requirement of reporting to the office two days per week. This hybrid schedule is subject to change as needed and determined by management.

- Human Resources Experience
- Customer service experience in the administration of payroll, leave accounting, employee transactions, position control, backgrounds, and workforce and succession planning.
- Experience in developing and/or revising policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state human resources (HR) related laws, regulations, policies and directives
- Leadership skills (in either a supervisory capacity or leading a team/project) while providing guidance to staff members and maintaining a positive and professional work environment
- Possess strong organizational skills and exercise good judgment
- Experience maintaining the confidentiality of information and records
- Experience organizing and establishing workload priorities in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
