Workers’ Compensation Claims SpecialistArlington, VA Job Type: Full-time, ContractLocation: Arlington, VAPay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Inspection Experts, Inc. (IEI) is seeking for a Workers’ Compensation Specialist in order to provide comprehensive support to a federal client’s OWCP program. The Specialist will work with Federal Specialist, other Senior Specialists and Human Resources assistant team on site and remotely, as approved by the client.Job DescriptionWorkers’ Compensation Administrative and Support Services, including:The review of claims received, assuring their completeness and accuracy. The assessment of claims according to the requirements of the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA).Providing technical guidance and assistance to employees and their supervisors for properly reporting injury or illness claims to their employing agency and the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Workers’ Compensation (DOL OWCP).The tracking and monitoring of pending and approved claims.Providing technical advice on the DOL OWCP claims process.Coordinating examination and treatment authorization for employees with work-related injuries. Serving as a liaison between the employing agency and DOL OWCP on claim-related matters. The maintenance of workers’ compensation records, files and logs.Communicating with OWCP-delegated nurses to facilitate return-to-work for claimants with medical work restrictions and providing guidance to their supervisors on OWCP requirements for temporary, modified job offers.Requirements5-8 years’ experience with Federal Workers’ Compensation Program, to include the adjudication of claims, correspondence w/ claimant, representatives, agency leadership, witnesses, medical practitioners, and possible investigators as necessary.Bachelor’s degree in related field.Ability to draft correspondence for claims made to third parties related to appeals.Experience handling challenges to Federal Employee Compensation Act claims.Demonstrated experience working with DOL’s OWCP office.Experience managing charge back documentation from DOL and providing appropriate challenges and requests for medical information.Experience with eCOMP is preferred.Ability to track and review detailed medical documents. Nursing or related experience is preferred.Demonstrated customer service skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Must comply with federal requirements for COVID-19 Vaccinations.
